Principal's Welcome
Dear Olinda Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year, Eagles! I am so excited to start another year together, SOARing toward our academic, social, and personal goals. This past school year, Olinda Elementary was named a California Distinguished School, a tremendous honor that reflects the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, and families. Congratulations to our entire community - we truly shine when we work together! Throughout the year, we will continue to focus on our SOAR expectations to help every student do their very best:

The faculty and staff at Olinda are committed to providing a rigorous educational experience for all students through engaging instruction, meaningful curriculum, and hands-on learning opportunities. With regular integration of technology, the arts, and enrichment programs, our goal is to support every child’s growth and success. Through our valued partnership with the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), students will enjoy enriching experiences throughout the year, including Moonlight Music, Life Science, and Art Masters. We are also proud to continue offering extracurricular programs such as Show Choir, Band, and Orchestra.
Important Information:
- Class Postings will be available on your Parent Portal by the end of the day on Wednesday, August 13th. Be sure to complete Data Confirmation in order to access class placement.
- School Supply Lists can be found on our website under the “Our School” tab.
Important Dates:
- First Day of School is Thursday, August 14th. On the first two days only, parents/guardians will be allowed to walk students to their classrooms. After that, parents will not be permitted on campus during drop-off and pick-up times.
- Early Release Wednesdays begin August 20th. TK/K dismiss at 1:15 PM, Grades 1–6 dismiss at 1:25 PM.
- Back to School Night is scheduled for Thursday, September 4th, 6:00–7:30 PM. We’ll begin in the Lunch Shelter for introductions and announcements, followed by classroom visits.
- Minimum Day is scheduled for Friday, September 5th. TK/K dismissal is at 11:30 AM, and Grades 1–6 dismiss at 12:30 PM.
I truly believe the best way to support our students is by forming strong partnerships with our families and community. Please consider getting involved by joining our PTO, School Site Council (SSC), and/or our English Learner Advisory Council (ELAC).
