Student Attendance

Regular attendance is essential to school success. Students should attend school every day, except in the case of illness or emergency.

TARDIES

Students are expected to be on time and ready to enter their classroom at 7:55 a.m., with afternoon kindergarten at 10:20 a.m. All students arriving late are to report directly to the office to obtain a tardy slip for attendance to their classrooms. Students who are more than 30 minutes late to school are marked as a truant for their attendance records. Students who come to school late will not be permitted into classrooms without a tardy slip.

ABSENCES

Please call the office before 8:30 a.m. to report an absence or leave a message on the attendance hotline at (714) 528-7475.

Homework requests must be made by 10:00 a.m. on the second day of absence and will be available for pickup between 2:10 and 4:00 p.m. in the office. We do not send homework home with friends or other students. Parents or siblings must pick up the work from the front office.

Independent Study Program

If your student must be out of school for five days or more, please contact your student's teacher and the school office as far in advance as possible. Independent study agreements are an educational support strategy that ensures your student will not miss important learning. Independent study also means our school won't lose educational funding. We appreciate your support!
